FCTVE FAREWELL PARTY

With one of their employee being transferred, Francistown College of technical and vocational education (FCTVE) administration requested the hospitality class to organize and plan a farewell event for one of their coworker. According to Fond farewell, (2014) a fare well party is the time when someone say goodbye to the family, friends and coworkers. It is perceived that knowing how valued people are in the organization will create a positive workplace culture in a longer team (James, 2014).
However a farewell party is by itself a surprise party. The class was divided into groups to tackle specific tasks including, food and beverage, for the service of food and beverages, menu planning and costing, restaurant set-up and decoration. The banqueting team were responsible for skirting and decorating.
Event Venue
With outdoor events in particular the site choice and preparation is obviously crucial to a successful event. It needs to be sufficiently large to accommodate the size of the audience expected, taking account of the space that will be occupied by structures, the activities and the facilities provided (Solaris, 2013).
The suitability of the site will also depend on the ground conditions, access routes, and the provision of services, and any environmental constraints such as the potential for noise disturbance if there are houses or workplaces close to the venue (. The event venue that was selected was a perfect match as college had the hospitality city which consists of a restaurant and a kitchen. The restaurant carrying capacity supported the event well, because the event was for 40 covers and restaurant carrying capacity is 60. Also it’s located within the campus and invited people just worked without traveling long distance.

  1. Glad to know about this event. At one of local San Francisco venues, I attended a decent dinner party with my entire family. The event was very entertaining and food served over there was truly delectable. Loved everything there!
