DONATION TO HELP THE NEED

As a respond to the office of the president to help the need, BAC hospitality class planned and organized a donation event for one of the identified person in Gerald, Francistown. These kind of events are known as cooperate social responsibility events, which refers to give back to the community (Clarke & Chen, 2007).

During the event an organizational structure was designed. Capell (2013) state that organizational structure is needed to produce the events and have an existing structure that can be adopted to suit the needs of the event . Also Conway (2009) state that typical structure is an event committee that oversees an event and is responsible for the day to day implementation through the event coordinator. Furthermore the author argues that the event committee should include a range of people with strong standing and with a good mix of leadership and decision making skills.

However the commit that was chosen during the event wasn’t active enough to carry their tasks, for example, donation sheets were given to the class raps by the coordinator without notifying the commit and donation boxes that were supposed to be displayed in both BAC campuses in Francistown for students to donate clothes in were not displayed as agreed. This resulted in other donors hold back their donations as there were told that there will be donation boxes in place.
Even though the event took place, lack of appropriate coordination by the chosen committee affected some of the on-set evaluated aspects.
